My Online Christmas Shopping Spree

I did it! Time to crack open my first bottle of Christmas bubbly (well, almost my first!) and celebrate – as promised, I managed to buy all my Christmas presents online this year. Well, all bar one. Unfortunately the $80 cost of shipping a fishing esky to Brisbane defeated me. But by sending my partner down to BCF with a fistful of cash, you’ll be pleased to hear I still managed to buy it without leaving home.

Now that it’s all over, I must admit Christmas shopping online was more fun than I thought it would be. I couldn’t wait to get home each day to see what mysterious packages were waiting on the doorstep. I’d pick them up, shake them, try to guess what was inside, then finally give in and rip the packaging off in a frenzy – it was like all my Christmases come at once!

I bought books, clothes, cosmetics, perfume, shoes, toys, gift vouchers and more. I found all sorts of interesting online shopping sites, including the definitive perfect-present-for-the-person-who-has-everything site. And I’ve decided to make it my Christmas gift to you.

Check out This Is Why I’m Broke. Happy Christmas!

I’m feeling sorry for the old-fashioned bricks & mortar businesses, so I’m going to be doing my Chrissy shopping there. But thanks for sharing that site Deb, I’m sure I’ll use it in the future. Dying to know what you bought there – was it the Batman Snuggie Blanket? Or the the Bed Fan?

Good one Deb. That site is gold!
Pretty well all of our Christmas shopping has been online this year too. The interesting thing is that items ordered locally or from overseas through dedicated online stores have arrived in plenty of time to be wrapped up and ready for Chrissy Day. While some simple things from local big box retailers who’ve recently added an online service look like they won’t arrive before Christmas despite being ordered a couple of weeks ago. Convenience is good but retailers literally need to deliver what they promise if they’re want to be taken seriously. I should have opted for the beer bottle chandelier!

What a great site Deb. Thanks for sharing! I’m betting your Secret Santa gift recipient was a very happy chappy this year!
