You might have seen that today Google have launched Google+ pages for brands. Here at BCM we’ve taken this one step further and are excited to announce a world-first which we have called Agency Hangout.
Agency Hangout uses the Google+ Hangouts feature to connect up to 10 advertising, design and interactive students to the best brains in the business (aka BCM staff) via a group video connection. These Hangouts will be recorded and added to an archive where students can browse previous discussions at any time you want.
Each week a BCM staff member will be available for half an hour video chat via Google Hangouts. Staff will be represented across the entire scope of the full service agency and will include everyone from agency partners to creative teams to interactive specialists to account service to interns. Discussion within each half hour session will be led by students and can include tips about how to get a foot in the door of an advertising agency, how to develop an eye-catching resume, what a typical day looks like in an agency, insight on BCM’s latest campaigns, international inspiration and even feedback on individual student projects!
The first Agency Hangout will take place on this Thursday, 10th November at 1pm (QLD time).
Our host this week will be our Creative Director, Nick Ikonomou. If you’re a student you might want to jump on and find out what Nick looks for when assessing creative talent, get behind his thinking on a recent campaign or ask him which brand of hair gel gives him consistent, long lasting shine.
To join the Agency Hangout, add BCM’s Google+ page to one of your Google+ circles. BCM will reciprocally add you to a student circle. At 1pm on Thursday all those students in the student circle will be invited to join the Agency Hangout. Unfortunately, Google currently limits brand Hangouts to 9 people so be quick, be nimble… be first.
We look forward to hanging out with you!

We’re really looking forward to this ‘first’. We hope our industry’s up and coming students love the opportunity to ‘hang out’ with us.
This is a very cool idea and great opportunity for students. Kudos BCM!
